Born in Charleston, SC, in 1957, Debbie has made the Low country her home her entire life. She studied
art in high school and college and especially enjoyed watercolors. She also studied under Charles
Parnelle during this time. However, her artistic expression took a long sabbatical to marry and raise a
family. She resumed watercolor instruction in 2007 and has studied with Helen Beacham, Tony Van
Hasslet, AWS, Fred Graff, Don Andrews, E.B. Lewis, James Pratt, Sarah Kuhnell, Tammy Papa, Janet
Rogers and numerous workshops.

She has held an active position with the Summerville Artist Guild since 2010. She is also a member of the
Charleston Artist Guild.  Her paintings include people, landscapes, seascapes, a few pets, florals, and her
favorite-Low country Scenes. She also enjoys pastels, oils, and some acrylic works.
